About Carolyn and Doula Beginnings
Women remember the day they give birth. My purpose as a doula is to protect that sacred memory.
It is my passion to encourage, educate and support women in their birth choices for an empowering and memorable birth experience.
I grew up in Christchurch although after many moves have made Palmerston North my home. I am the very proud mother of 4 amazing young adults – 3 daughters and a son – and an even prouder Gamma to 5 precious grandbabies who I was blessed to be able to welcome into the world.
I have worked with close to 200 families over 20+ years and have experience in unmedicated, medicated, vaginal and cesarean birth, miscarriage and loss, water birth, VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), preterm (and postdates) birth, twins, teen and single mothers, first through fourth children, women aged 17 -40, hospitals in Christchurch, Porirua, Wellington, Palmerston North, Australia, Fiji and many homebirths in various locations.
I look forward to helping you create some positive birth memories.
